The World is Your Canvas:
Creativity and Self Expression
EcoStiks® was founded with a creative vision: to transform wetsuits into canvases for self expression while supporting causes connected to the environment, ocean, and social justice. The idea was simple—use sticker patches to tell stories, share powerful messages, and provide a unique canvas to amplify brands, non profits, artists, athetes, creatives and photographers with a platform to showcase their work and passions.
From the beginning, EcoStiks was more than just a product; it was a movement toward artistic self-expression and environmental impact and awareness.
The Garage

EcoStiks took shape in a small garage, where ideas were tested by hand and creativity drove every decision. It was part workshop, part studio—tables covered in fabric scraps, designs in progress, and early sticker patches being cut, pressed, and tested one by one. Our founder made many of the first EcoStiks herself, experimenting with materials, colors, shapes, and durability, learning what worked through constant trial and error. That garage wasn’t polished or perfect, but it was alive with momentum—the kind of place where product development and creativity happened at the same time, fueled by curiosity, persistence, and the belief that something small could turn into something meaningful.
Julie expanded the creative and sustainable mission and opened a studio warehouse, Stik N Stuk Creative Studios, in Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone, an area known for its creative energy and artistic community.
Stik N Stuk Creative Studios
What began as EcoStiks in a garage grew into a creative studio built around sticking things and bringing people together. The space became a place to experiment—not just with products, but with ideas—where walls, tables, and objects turned into canvases and creativity was hands-on and shared. Over time, it evolved into a hub for grassroots community events: pop-up galleries, art shows, consignment collections, nonprofit launches, and impromptu gatherings that blended artists, makers, musicians, DJs, and neighbors. There were launch parties and people parties, summer art camps and creative workshops—moments where art, music, and purpose overlapped. The studio reflected what EcoStiks had always been about: creating space for expression, collaboration, and community, and proving that something small—like a patch or an idea—can bring people together in powerful ways.

On The Road
As the journey continued, the physical creative studio was sold, and EcoStiks moved fully online—but the work didn’t slow down, it expanded.
The next phase focused on taking creativity and community beyond one location. Through EcoStiks Creative Campaigns, the team partnered with nonprofits, brands, and organizations to design on-site activations that blended art, storytelling, and impact—showing up in new places to support creativity, community, and environmental awareness.
Concepts like Skip the Lid, savor the Moment emerged as simple, action-based campaigns, alongside the launch of the Small Waves Make Big Waves podcast (coming soon!), which highlighted people and organizations turning small ideas into real change.
EcoStiks began showing up at more events, taking the brand on the road and beyond Santa Barbara—connecting with groups like the Green Sports Alliance, Surf Industry Membership Association, FestForums, Music Sustainability Alliance, 1% for the Planet, and the promotional products community.
What started as a local experiment evolved into a national and international presence, grounded in the same belief: creativity travels, and small actions can make big waves anywhere.

The Waves Ahead
Looking ahead, we’ll carry everything we’ve learned forward—using our real-world experience, partnerships, and community insights to shape what’s next.
We’ll continue to refine and expand an amazing, versatile product that sparks creativity, extends the life of everyday items, and makes sustainability easy and fun to participate in.
We’ll keep showing up in communities, collaborating with brands, artists, athletes, and changemakers to build connection through creativity.
We’ll grow the Skip the Lid movement as a simple, daily action anyone can take to reduce waste, and launch the Small Waves Make Big Waves podcast to amplify stories that inspire participation and progress.
Our rhythm will remain the same: small actions, repeated over time, create real impact. That’s how EcoStiks began—and that’s how we’ll keep making waves.
Small waves make big waves.
How will YOU Stik it?
EcoStiks and AI
We believe that true innovation in AI lies not in the relentless pursuit of efficiency, but in the delicate balance between technological advancement AND human values.
Our AI systems are designed to augment human intelligence, not replace it, fostering a relationship where machine learning enhances human creativity and intuition. This human-centered approach extends to our data practices, where we honor the sanctity of personal information and implement robust protections against misuse.
In our adoption as an organization using AI, we recognize we are not merely using technology, but participating in the evolution of a new form of intelligence.
With this profound responsibility, we have implemented a system of continuous learning and adaptation, engaging in open dialogue with our community.
As a women owned business, we feel our use of AI is based on the understanding that there needs to be more diverse participation with this technology, as it is currently a biased system.
As the pressures of the climate crisis continue, the propensity to look for technological solutions to support its resolution will also accelerate. We hope to be part of this solution by optimizing our engagement and commitment to our customers and the planet.
